Apr 2025 - Ascent from Llyn Ogwen. When will this weather end? I'm not complaining and I'm past feeling guilty. Another scorcher today! I'm beginning to feel that this weather is the norm, and I definitely know it's not. The Pen Yr Ole Wen straight up is exhausting but I absolutely love it. There was no one else, just me and the the retrospective views of the Ogwen Valley, the Glyderau, Tryfan, Y Garn and eventually, with height, Snowdon and Elidir Fawr. Sun cream went on twice today, 1.5L of water was drunk and I sweated buckets. Surprisingly, few folk around. Hazy views across to Anglesey. Had lunch on Carnedd Llewelyn. The Carneddau ponies were nowhere to be seen today, probably sheltering from the sun in the crags. Helped a guy who was panicking on the downclimb of Penywaun-wen. Amazing hike!
