Oct 2024 - Ascent from Pen y Pass. Drove to Llanberis, parked and took the Sherpa bus up to Pen y Pass. Weather was promising and delivered. A guy rudely barged past me as we came off the bus and then proceeded to walk fast ahead of me, constantly, I think, looking back to see where I was. He failed to shake me off and I passed him easily two-thirds of the way up. Ha ha. Mental victory! That nonsense aside, it really was a great mountain day. Fabulous views and the pigeon mask meant I brought some laughs to others on the summit. The cafe was open up there also which, in my experience, is a rarity. It was nice and warm in there, but still slightly strange. The descent on the Llanberis path is long but afforded great views south and west to the Nantlle Ridge and Moel Eilio. Nice post-walk pint in Caernarfon.
