Walk 217 - Moel Hebog, Moel yr Ogof, Moel Lefn
Distance: 12.7km
Ascent: 990m

Sept 2024 - Ascent from Beddgelert. Fortunately, the shoulder had really eased up after yesterday's fall. I feared it would be completely seized when I woke up this morning, however, was pleasantly surprised to see that the pain had subsided. This was a relief as the last time I was on Moel Hebog I slipped and ended up damaging my back and ribs, resulting in a visit to Bangor Hospital and months of agonising spasms. The scree section on the ascent is still treacherous but I picked my way up really carefully. It was much drier today and the rain stayed away. Also, the clouds were well above Snowdon, meaning the views were sensational. The Nantlle Ridge, the Llyn Peninsula, Cnicht and the Moelwyns, Moel Siabod and the Snowdon Massif all looked tremendous. I had lunch on the summit of Moel yr Ogof whilst taking in the views. It was extremely boggy from the Princess Quarry down to the forest. The final section through the Beddgelert Forest was absolutely beautiful.
