Dec 2023 - Well, the intention was for both of us to go up Moel Siabod today. Upon arrival at the start point, Gemma bottled it, and as it turns out, she was right to. After a lovely climb through forestry, the wind picked up, and, at about the 500m contour line, it became horrendous. It literally lifted me off my feet twice, so I made the decision to abort. I then followed a boggy route around the flank of the mountain, to pick up the quarry path. From there, I decided to walk around and down through the forest to Dolwyddelan. Really enjoyed it. Didn’t enjoy finding out that the Moel Siabod Café is to close though. After Pete’s Eats closing also in Llanberis a couple of years ago, it’s another sad loss for mountain folk.
