Aug 2022 - Ascent from Croesor. Love walking from Croesor, a gorgeous little place overlooked by the 'Welsh Matterhorn', Cnicht. Omitted this summit today as the exertions of the last few days are catching up with my legs. Also, I was excited to take the Snowdonia Slate Trail up through the valley and it didn't disappoint. Essentially a long grassy ramp, it winds its way up the southern side of Cwm Croesor to the now-disused mine workings. The views improved with height. The Moelwyn with the connecting higher ground of Craigysgafn were delightful as always. As the pano vid of Moelwyn Mawr displays, all the tops were out. The immediate views down to Llyn Stwlan and Blaenau Ffestiniog were lovely as well.
