Walk 132 - Corn Du, Pen y Fan, Cribyn, Fan y Big
Distance: 15.9km
Ascent: 862m
May 2021- Ascent from Pont Cwmyfedwen. Really enjoyed today’s walk. Despite a bleak weather forecast, it turned out okay, especially on the tops. As an added bonus, the negative forecast kept a significant amount of people away. Had to park further down the valley for the start, as there was masses of forestry work going on in the Neuadd normal start point. The churned up mess that was last here when I passed the lower Neuadd reservoir that they are rewilding is no more. To be fair, they’ve done a good job in reshaping the heathland, reseeding the area and constructing a new path and bridge that passes over the ‘new’ river. On the Craig Fan Ddu ridge the clouds cleared for a couple of hours and the walking over the tops was great. Had lunch on Cribyn.
