Walk 117 - Gorllwyn, Drygarn Fawr
Distance: 17.1km
Ascent: 565m
Aug 2020 - Ascent from Llannerch Cawr. Lovely drive through the Elan Valley past the Caban-coch and Garreg-ddu Reservoirs to the start point. Plenty of branches and, in some cases, whole trees down after Storm Francis. A proper slog across loads undulating, boggy ground today but I really enjoyed it. The valley walk towards the end was gorgeous. Massive cairns on Drygarn Fawr and extensive views to the Brecon Beacons to the south and parts of Snowdonia to the north. Red Kites circled overhead at points but couldn't get a decent photo. Their reddish gold feathers glowed in the sun.
