Walk 116 - Pen Pumlumon Arwystli, Pen Pumlumon Llygad-bychan, Pumlumon Fawr
Distance: 20.2km
Ascent: 801m
Feb 2020 - Ascent from Eisteddfa Fach. Beautiful weather today before tomorrow's forecast Storm Ciara. Early start; out and walking by 7:30am. A great route that I planned by luck really, which took me up and over from the start point to the Wye Valley and eventually, through the lovely Hafren Forest. At the north edge of the forest, I picked up the Severn Way which led to the source of the River Severn - the UK's longest river at 220miles and with more total discharge than all other UK rivers. Great views northwards to Cadir Idris as I crossed to Pen Pumlumon Arwystli, where I had an early lunch. From there, it was on to Pumlumon Fawr. Great views westwards over the Nant-y-moch Reservoir. Massive shelters on the summits here and plenty of historic boundary stones.
