Walk 115 - Foel Fawr, Foel Fraith, Garreg Las
Distance: 13.3km
Ascent: 525m
Jan 2020 - (with Glyn) Ascent from Black Mountain pass. Perfect weather once again for this walk. After breakfast in Llandovery, and de-icing the hairy-with-ice motor, we enjoyed the drive to the start point. Despite being cold, progress was quick due to the high start and the solid ground. Amazing views across to Pen y Fan and the eastern Beacons. Almost moon-like terrain in places with the many sinkholes. Garreg Las was a majestic viewpoint and we enjoyed a snack there, with views out to the Bristol Channel and the Gower Peninsula, and northwards to the distant Cambrians of central Wales.
