July 2017 - Ascent from Saxeten. Up really early today (too early for Gemma) in order to get the best of the weather. An interesting drive wound its way up to the start point: the beautiful village of Saxeten. From there, it was a sweltering ascent up through meadows and woodland to the Renglipass. Here things got more alpine and there were some short scrambles and fixed chains to negotiate. The summit was an excellent viewpoint for the whole of the Interlaken area, including both lakes. Stunning vistas of the high alps again and I sat for around an hour on the summit taking it in. Wonderful stuff.
