Apr 2019 - (with Gemma) This is possibly the most popular trail in the Picos. Cares Gorge or ‘The Divine Gorge’ as locals refer to it. The clear, blue-green waters of the River Cares have gouged a deep ravine between the Central and Western massifs of the Picos de Europa. This was a simply magnificent hike – what incredible scenery albeit a there and back route. For almost the entire length of the gorge, there was a huge vertical drop on one side. It was one of those where around each twist and turn in the path was a new view, a fresh surprise. Just brilliant!.
