Walk 97 - Stob Ban (Grey Corries)
Distance: 18km
Ascent: 852m

July 2020 - Ascent from pot-holed nightmare track, Corriechoille. Stob Ban is rather hidden away behind the higher peaks of the Grey Corries. However it is a steep and shapely peak in its own right, and well repays the long approach walk. The tiny Lairig Leacach bothy sits at its foot. The track to the start point was even worse than I remembered it from when I did the other peaks of the Grey Corries a few years ago. Weather forecast was dire today however it didn’t really rain, just drizzled. The 'Wee Minister' loomed suddenly from the bushes early on. Views were limited, especially above 600m where it became a clagfest. The summit felt really airy; just a point in the sky. A real sense of isolation up there in the clag. Saw absolutely nobody, just a few ptarmigans and a tiny bank vole which scampered in front of me and gave me a fright!
