July 2020 - (with Gemma) We decided upon the direct ascent of Clisham, the highest peak in the Outer Hebrides.I fancied doing the horseshoe walk but Gemma was anxious about her fitness, having not really walked in a while. She was fine. The ascent was initially tedious and boggy. Good views opened up behind of Todun above Maraig and the crescent of steep-sided hills that dominate just north of Tarbert. The.summit ridge was excellent with the highest point marked by a trig point enclosed in a circular shelter. The cloud cleared occasionally offering excellent vistas of the Harris coastline. So good to be back in the mountains!
