Oct 2016 - Ascent from Loch Moraig. Early start. A fantastic long walk today; total isolation; encountered nobody whatsoever! Just ravens and sheep. Long route in followed by a great ridge traverse from Carn Liath to Braigh Coire Chruinn-bhalgain. Almost a Brocken Spectre on the summit of Carn nan Gabhar. Broad plateaus of the Cairngorms to the north and east were visible between clouds. Plenty of frost and frozen ground above 1000m.
