Walk 76 - High Street, Mardale Ill Bell, Harter Fell
Distance: 10.8km
Ascent: 850m
June 2011– (with Glyn) – Ascent from Mardale. An enjoyable drive up from the South was followed by this beauty. Perfect weather, great visibility. Great views of Haweswater as we climbed from The Rigg along the various crags, stopping occasionally for the great views and photo opportunities. Blea Tarn looked wonderful set in its bowl and the walk from the summit of High Street onto Mardale Ill Bell was fantastic. After beginning the descent from Harter Fell we found the famous 'arrow stone' illustrated by Wainwright and stopped there for photos before the hike down where I had hidden some Stella in a stream for Glyn and I. What a mate!d.
