Dec 2025 - Ascent from Buttermere. Just a brilliant walk. Saw just five other people on the tops. Love this ascent through Old Burtness Wood and beside Sourmilk Gill before you arrive at Bleaberry Tarn. Cloud lifted to give great views down into Ennerdale and across to Kirk Fell and Pillar. Gorgeous bursts of sun across Buttermere to Grasmoor and Robinson. Stunning walk alongside Buttermere Lake with Fleetwith Pike looking amazing as always. Greasy rock today was the main problem, especially on the descent, but I didn’t fall over.
