Distance: 18km

Nov 2024 - Ascent from Walna Scar car park. Another fabulous walk today. The early morning sun turned the fells orange again. Took the Walna Scar track up to 620m, before turning right and up to Dow Crag. Had every summit apart from Grey Friar to myself today. Finally found the ‘Matterhorn Rock’ on Grey Friar, no idea how I’d missed it previously as it’s just a few metres off the path. Visited the memorial to the crashed Halifax Bomber once again. On the descent from Levers Hawse, there were about a dozen sheep on a dodgy crag to my right. I have no idea if they were trapped, but it seemed like a ridiculous place to flock. Explored some of the copper mines entrances and enjoyed seeing the Pudding Stone again.
