Dec 2022 - Ascent from Rakefoot. Full waterproofs on at the start point as unrelenting rain and wind forecast for the whole day. Could barely see Derwent Water from Walla Crag where I tried to stick to the tree cover as much as possible. Enjoyed the blustery ascent of Bleaberry Fell before the undulating ridge to High Seat. Had a quick snack and descended eventually to Ashness Bridge alongside the Thwaitehouse Beck which was unsurprisingly in spate. Really enjoyable woodland path from there for quite a distance, passing through Great Wood underneath Walla Crag and back to the car. Here I encountered some humans. Got absolutely soaked today. Central fells hideous underfoot as always.
