Apr 2021 - Ascent from Wasdale Head. Made my way up Moses Trod like yesterday. Had planned on again enjoying the Skew Gill approach to Great End and the tops today. No chance! The scary steep escape at the back was covered in ice. Instead took in Sprinkling Tarn and Grains Gill up to Esk Hause, and then on to Great End itself. No view from there today. Crossed to the Pike where there were some folk talking nonsense so I left rapidly and descended and crossed to Lingmell and total solitude. Explored this summit further today and Lingmell Crags. Excellent views by now. A testing descent on the knees from Lingmell but lovely panoramas of Mosedale and Wast Water.
