Aug 2018 - (with Gemma) Ascent from Nanortalik. We arrived in the tiny island town of Nanortalik today and chose this smaller peak as the weather wasn’t great. The town itself is beautiful; colourful buildings (which used to denote the purpose of the building: red = fishing, blue = public services etc) and a picturesque harbour. The residents now have painted their houses all manner of vibrant colours. The climb was a simple one with some moderate scrambling and the weather gradually improved, affording us views of the whole island and beyond. Highlights included encountering the dogs of the island, the beautiful cemetery by the fjord shore and meeting some delightful Inuit children.
